The support of volunteers can be immeasurably helpful. Every Hope volunteer receives an extensive background check and thorough education. These individuals are often referred to as the “heart of Hope” as they can provide:
- Family transportation to medical appointments
- Assistance with errands
- Help with light housekeeping
- Respite care to allow caregivers time alone at home
- Companionship for children who are ill – or for siblings in need of play time
“We play games, read books… it’s a time for them to not think about their illness. What we do is not about their illness, it’s about them.” –Hope Volunteer Breanna Yocum
