Rainbow Trails Camp
Rainbow Trails is a bereavement camp for children ages 6-17 who are coping with recent loss. The goal of this special weekend event is to provide:
- Skills to cope with grief and loss
- An opportunity to memorialize a loved one
At camp, children interact with loving camp buddies – the Hope professionals, school counselors, teachers and volunteers who have completed a special Rainbow Trails education series.
The camp itinerary is filled with creative, stress-reducing activities including crafts, swimming and singing. While Rainbow Trails may have a serious purpose, campers will have plenty of fun. During camp activities and games, therapeutic activities are designed to uncover little one’s hidden emotions – so that healing can begin.
After camp, support is still available for the children. Follow up opportunities include one-on-one counseling as well as a special camp reunion to meet up with old friends.
